Review from matt stoner
Steep drop in performance from the previous app. Previous was simple and got the job done. New app added fluff and decreases usability. News flash, this is for school. I don't need to be entertained with animations and color. Bring back the old app
September 15, 2017Thank you for this feedback. We hear you. We made some changes for the next update to address these concerns. Hopefully these will give you a better experience.
No option to personalize notification settings. Over-the-top repeat notifications- like 10 new notifications in one day for the same thing. No option to turn off notifications or alter the frequency. The "settings" menu is useless as it doesn't contain a single setting- it should be named something other than settings. For an app that's supposed to be helpful, it's more of a hindrance.
I have had previous versions of this app and have absolutely hated them because of many problems with it being hard to use, not loading well, signing me out every time I edit the app, and notifications being out of control. I recently downloaded version 3.2.0 because the mobile version on the web is unusable on my Moto G4 and so far the app has been stellar. It looks so much better than it used to, has a very easy to use and visually appealing grade section, and has a layout that makes sense. I've heard people have had issues with notifications being out of control however I haven't experienced this yet. I will update this review should that change. Only thing that was weird to me was that the settings section actually doesn't have any settings that can be changed via the app.
My main complaint is that I get the same notification over and over for the same thing. It's like I'm waiting for my grade from my finals and every time I see the notification I feel excitement and then it's just the exact same grade I already looked at.
Are you kidding me?? Before there was absolutely no way for me to access blackboard! I thought you had to have a laptop or tablet to see it. How anyone wouldn't give this at least a 4 boggles my mind..
Overall bblearn is a bad design (Canvas is much better). This app is pretty bad though, it notifies me continually about the exact same thing no matter how many times I dismiss it. Also there is no option to turn off notification that I could find
Notification for the same thing 30 times a day. After latest update, won't open; just flashes the screen a couple times and then isn't even in my app history
We are very excited to add support for organizations to the Blackboard app! For every organization in which you are a participant, you can now access content, view announcements, and participate in discussions.
We’ve also fixed some bugs and improved performance.
