Life360 needs a little more I love the life360 integration because i already used it. A few suggestions to make this better would to give a popup when people come home to disable it like it does when you leave. Also it needs to stop giving the "arm" popup when you leave and it is already in armed mode. Love this system!
One more change needed Operation of Piper fully depends on connection to the central server in America. No connection to server = Piper is dead. Thank you very much. Update 1.3.0 fixed problems with night vision. Now it turns on and off without delays and at the optimal lighting condition. If you will make operation/state of the Piper controllable directly from a phone without need to have connection to your server, the Piper will become priceless
Lots of improvements since launching as a crowd source. I was part of the crowd source and also purchased the latest Piper nv. Most of the connectivity and setup bugs are a thing of the past. Haven't had any issues trying to connect and viewing the live feed. I wish we had the ability to reorder the list of accessories, so I spent the time to unpair everything and reset up all four door sensors, three plug ins, and one micro switch and picked the Piper nv as the default all in about 45 mins instead. Reasonable time for first users. Only other thing, should an alarm be triggered by accident, it still takes about 2-3 mins to connect with Piper and turn it off. I imagine it has to do with Piper being busy following all of your away rules. Not sure if that can be improved with software updates or if the CPU of the hardware is the bottleneck. Other than that, thanks for providing a great DIY home security system. I always promote Piper to friends and family for the great monitoring at a reasonable investment. Thanks!
Needs Notification Slot or Widget Piper NV itself is an excellent device, no qualms there. The app is just decent, checking the boxes for all the basic stuff, but there are a few features it needs that are still missing. Namely it needs a notification slot that allows quick home/away toggling without needing to open the app itself; a widget would also be acceptable. Also it records a ton of environmental data, but it hands it to you in the form of extremely vague graphs limited to 48hrs, a bit more depth would be nice.
Almost there What I like : super easy and reliable setup. , video resolution. , numerous features. UI well done. No connectivity issues. ..yet and NO fees what I wish : being able to save video recordings directly on my phone and not being totally dependant on their servers and willing to have those videos available. ...tried a couple of video recordings, keeps on saying "processing"...so basically not available for reviewing which is a big downer
The fuzzy video quality makes this device fairly useless for crime surveillance. The vendor puts very clear photos on the website. These are false representations and deceptive advertising. You will never see such clear images from a piper. Very disappointed. App crashes now when switching between piper 1 and piper 2. The video records about 15 seconds at 1 frame per second when a trigger is set in the app. Useless to identify someone entering your home because each frame is a blur.
*With Smart Arming, when Life360 detects everyone has left the home, Piper will prompt users to arm their system with the simple touch of a button.
* Night vision switching improvements.
* Video load time enhancements.
* Fix for low battery issues with some z-wave devices.
* Android M compatibility fixes
