Toffe app jongens. Maar ff scherp blijven in de release notes: Gmail kregen we pas in 2004. :)
Great idea and app.
The idea is worth 4 or even 5 stars, and the app itself 3.5, but the realisation of the idea currently doesn't merit more than 3. If reading headlines is so 2016 (according to Blendle), then paying through the nose to read whole articles is, well, not terribly 2017 however you view it. €99 per annum is too much, even for access to "articles from all newspapers and magazines out there". But wait, is that what you actually get if you do cough up the necessary? A few lines further down, Blendle clarifies that this actually means access to "everything from the very best newspapers from the Netherlands, Germany, and the US". Not quite the same thing, is it? Reduce the price, expand the content, and then we'll talk again. In the meantime, there's Topics NL for Dutch readers, which has even more restricted coverage (just the Persgroep newspapers), but a price tag that is much more attractive.
I simply couldn't login with a SAMSUNG S6 Android 6.0.1 . Having had created an account some time ago, forgotten the password, pressing the 'button' - (wrong, misleading choice of terms, 'link' would be better; as there is a 'button' at the very end of the mail - however that's not the link!), a page - in the BLENDL app pops up: "check je mail!" with the only option at the bottom of it: "Ik heb geen mail ontvangen " (which would be the wrong choice (however there is no choice anyway) as I HAVE received it). Clicking on that starts a new cycle.... Commènt written in English as this bug (?) might interest a wider public. Possible solution (?): give alternative choice: 'I HAVE received the email, BUT.....' then breaking the vicious circle by an appropriate action according to subsequent choices. I most probably would like to give a 5-star rating, yet only once I can have access to the app.
Ralph Ellison would say:
»I am an invisible update. No, I am not a spook. I am an update of substance, of code and strings, syntax and loops - and I might even be said to possess an algorithm. I am invisible, understand, simply because people cannot see me. Like the bodiless heads you see sometimes in circus sideshows, it is as though I have been surrounded by mirrors.«
