Great content, very well done app, but absolutely crazy subscription policy! Expecting people to pay you 80€ at once for the whole year is totally insane, that's a commitment that most of the people don't want to do. Why won't you offer a monthly based subscription?
Question What happens if I subscribe now and the prices drop in the near future? I'll feel pretty gypped for being the guinea pig! Wonderful app. More thots once I use it a bit. But curious about this. Also strongly feel that 3d trial is wayyy too low to get a sense. A 14d trial with limits to ensure Fair Use is a better way, imho
For paying a premium year long subscription, I should be able to listen/read the blink as many times as I like. At the moment.. I only get to listen to it once. Not cool. On a positive note I will say I do really appreciate the quality of narrators for audio portion of blinks.
great idea, good execution, awful strategy. As someone who has spent 15 years in startups, all I've taken away from this is the idea and a better model to increase acquisiton, adoption and retention rate. It is too expensive and provides no subscription options. Watch as their support team replies with the same canned response they leave on every review ... in advance, no thanks
I think that you all have a fantastic idea. However, the point of any start up is to make growth first then profit. Blinkist would benefit from being a free app with ads while having full texts and ad-free as its subscription model. I think there is a shallow plateau of users willing to pay for vignette's that make them want the full writings. Maybe profit from commission made by purchase of books through Amazon?...
I've already paid for a years subscription but it says I need to upgrade to download the audio. I went to pay again to upgrade and it's the same problem, even though the transaction went through. Really annoying.
Life is full of interruptions. You're accepting your Oscar for Best Picture, and you're interrupted. You're listening to blinks, and you're interrupted. Where does it stop?! Then, the inevitable: "What was I reading?!" With this update, never lose your place in Blinkist, again! Your most recent title is at the bottom of your screen, waiting for you where you left off. Brilliant! And as for those nagging interruptions? Channel serenity with our newest library category: Mindfulness & Happiness.
