Ratings and reviews

I like key point summaries of books. Sometimes a summary is all I need, and other times it motivates me to read the book. 3-stars because Blinkist is using AI for some summaries: I find these very hard to listen to, they interfere with my ability to focus on the content because the phrasing + lack of emotion in the voice make it hard for me to focus on the content. At a minimum, it should be transparent about which summaries are AI voices and which are human so we can choose the format.

Content is good if and when the app decides to play it. I'm constantly interrupted by pauses to the playback. I counted six times yesterday the app just stopped playing during a 12 minute blink. It's very frustrating. I downloaded so I can listen while I walk my dog, but if you're not on a strong wifi connection the app just stops working. I won't be continuing my subscription. You should consider looking elsewhere, there's lots of similar apps out there.

I've been a subscriber for a few years now but this is the last year I'll be a paying member. The app still has playback issues, they STILL don't have a widget, narration is hit or miss, they sometimes don't really get the key points of a book right, and most importantly, their selection of books is still too focused on corporate/HR, self-help trash. They're now trying to pivot this as a "learning" app too which is disingenuous. It's a way to get the gist of a book.
