Review from christopher doss
adding disappointment Cannot add to your collection by just scanning disk pretty lame need to fix that
Best place for collectors Log your movies. buy. Or just read reviews it's perfect
Needs manual entry OK, just downloaded, port in two movies just fine. Third 'movie' they didn't have. It's a workout video, so whatever, fine not to have...BUT, what am I missing? I can't find a way to manually input my own. Heck, what if I want to list my homemade videos, just so I know they exist? Help! Can t rate it higher without that. If can figure it out, or they at some point add it, I'd go minimum of 4 stars. Will need more time to see if worth more than that. Thanks
It's good but! It's a good app but " latest update gives me error message about incorrect username or password, but all my details are correct because I have full access to the website with current details." suggestions would be a dark/black UI theme option in settings and the filter option needs to be just a button and not as it's implimented at the moment, I prefer seeing my collection preview etc first, also swap around the "about" and "quit" tab positions.
Good App I needed to download another bar code app. It apparently did not see, or work with reader I had, but that is a very minor item. Scans of bar codes worked well. Most movies found. A few not found I used Web search from the left top menu. However, I was unable to find a way to manually add a DVD that couldn't be found with scan or Web search. Due to lack of a manual entry, I can only give this app 4 Stars.
Good But Missing Some Key Features The app is great when you have one copy of a movie and when it's in their database. But if you have a duplicate, you should be able to add it so you know you have the dupe to trade or sell or whatever. Also, if a movie isn't in their database, there's no way to add it manually. That's a big negative, too.
I'm bumping score up to 4 stars. In my original review I mentioned how bloated the app could become, by downloading and storing large images (largest was 9.59MB for one image). Now the app only stores smaller images, so for a larger collection it will only have 10s or 100s of MB image cache vs over 1GB. I'd still like the option to download all the "medium" sized cover images at once, and/or an option to refresh the current images. If a cover is updated in database, you currently have to delete image cache, then look through the collections to repopulate the images. Generally though the app has progressed in leaps and bounds with its features. They've added a lot more filters to sort collections, and to help when you are looking for something to watch or play (various games collections can be added too).
