WHY COMPRESS A PDF
Scanned documents and image-heavy PDF files are often too large to email or upload. Compress PDF reduces the PDF size so the file fits, without sending your document to a server.
TWO WAYS TO COMPRESS
Text-preserving compression re-compresses the images inside the PDF while text selection, search, and links keep working. This is the default.
Strong compression turns every page into an image. It shrinks the PDF much more, but text selection, search, and links are lost. The app always asks first.
REDUCE PDF TO AN EXACT SIZE
Need a PDF under 5 MB for an email attachment? Enter the target size and the app tries progressively lower quality until the compressed PDF fits. It measures the real file size each time, not an estimate.
HONEST RESULTS
• Real byte sizes before and after, with the actual reduction
• If a PDF cannot be made smaller, the app says so instead of pretending
• Cancel any time — the app stops and cleans up
• Password-protected PDF files are not supported, and the app tells you why

Open or share a PDF from Files or your email app and it goes straight into the app.

PDF files are compressed on this device and are never uploaded. Usage statistics and error diagnostics help improve the app, and you can turn each one off separately in Settings at any time. Where the law requires consent, such as in the EU, the UK, and Switzerland, the app asks before sending anything.
