About this app

Who Can Benefit From This App?

Performing calm breathing exercises can help with variety of situations:
dealing with stress, asthma, panic attacks, relief of chronic pain or just
daily relaxation.

Breathmix contains 2 products in 1:

Box Breathing

In this powerful relaxation technique you breathe according to a predefined
pattern (4-7-8 for helping falling asleep is a famous example of this) . The goal
is to sync the heart rate with the breathing - reaching heart rate coherence / resonance.
In "Simple mode" the app allows you to set a breathing function of your choice
with the following features not always found in other places:

Decimal accuracy in inhale, exhale, hold and rest periods.
★ Adjustable breathing depth based on lung capacity.
★ 3D widget with touch gestures to fluently adjust pacing and breathing depth .
★ Session timer.
★ Audio and vibration cues.

Heart Rate Variability Coherence Trainer

The second product inside Breathmix is the HRV biofeedback trainer.
The end effect is the same as in the box breathing technique
but here the heart rate is measured by a sensor and an algorithm adjusts the breathing pattern.
learn more:

The following features are provided
★ Heart rate graph
★ Preview window for adjusting the finger position
★ Resonance(coherence) percent indication for showing progress.
★ Intelligent algorithm to help you reach resonance.

Find Your Prefect Breathing Rate

Breathmix is the only app that we know of that allows you to find your personal
perfect breathing rate. It is displayed when reaching resonance in biofeedback mode.
Once you know this number you can use it in simple mode to improve box breathing
method efficiency.

I really like this app when it works, but it's got some bugs that make biofeedback mode unusable sometimes, and that makes me question it's accuracy all of the time. Sometimes when it detects my heart rate, it seems accurate, but sometimes the HR it reports is WAY OFF. Example: it says my HR is fluctuating between 40 and 55 but it's really closer to 80. Simple mode is great.

Margo, thank you very much for the feedback. The heart rate detection may be off if the finger isn't covering the camera's lens completely, it may be related to the phone model you are using. I would be happy to try to solve the problem. You can contact me at

It is a great app and premiss, but I got it with the hope of using the heartrate monitor feature in conjunction with the breathing tool, but the flashlight kept burning my finger and so I couldn't use it for more than 30 seconds at time like I'd wanted. If you guys debug that aspect of it, I would defiantly give it a try again.

The problem is that the biofeedback mode is utterly useless because the heart rate measurements via the camera are so unreliable and noisy. Other apps manage to do it perfectly fine so I can only conclude that the developers are either incompetent or just don't care. Either way, a waste of my money.
