Kind of addicting, simple to play, not real fancy but it's a free game. I read some reviews about not being able to buy weapons for the ship's the instructions could be better, to find the menu for weapons and other things just touch the top of the screen to open the game and command menus. Not every planet sells equipment but the menu will let you know what is available.
My dad used to play the original game on his old palmar before I was born... About two years ago he told me he loved this game and the description he made of it was really amusing, so I went in the attic looking for his palmar. I found it and I studied it for about a week to understand how it used to work. Then I spent the following three months searching the name of the game on internet because my father didn't remember it. When I found out it was "Space Trader", it took me a month (again) to find the proper file to install on the palmar. I played this wonderful game for more than 150 hours till now, switching between the charming original palmar and a porting for windows. Now that I've decided to play on my mobile phone, I'm sure this will be my favourite game of all time. If you managed to read all my story, I thank you and I hope you liked it.
I restarted this game like three times what's the point of a Trader game if you can't trade. Three times in a row it started me someplace we're literally all the star systems that I could jump to sold everything lower then I could buy them for. I literally couldn't buy anything and sell it for a profit anywhere within range very disappointed
Fun for a while...It seems like I should be able to buy weapons for my ship, but I haven't found a port where that's possible. Also would be great if there were better ships elsewhere. Maybe I just haven't played enough?
Loyal port A completely loyal copy, ad-free as far as I can tell. Some usability changes would be nice, as the menus are a little cumbersome, but I won't complain when a port errs on the side of following the original.
Buggy game. Engaging for 15 minutes. For a really cool trader game, the best one is Doug Caruther's Space Trader for the Commodore 64. A pretty glaring defect... I can't buy lasers because it says the equipment slots are full, but when I sell the equipment, I have no equipment installed and all slots are open. Because of that, you can only fight for the first 10 minutes of play, then you are condemmed to flee from then on. Yeah, pretty boring. If that's fixed, I might revisit the game
