For decades I heard guys cite knot preferences by name (i.e. truckers, fishermen, farmers, etc) but didn't know what they meant... now I do, and have learned a couple of basic and useful knots myself. This app far exceeds the usefulness of most apps....so we'll done
The Smartest Knots App Very easy to follow. For the quick learners you can zip through the steps and learn all the knots in no time. For a slow guy like me I just love to step forward after I figured things out; step back if I have doubt and enjoy the process of learning the twists and turns of tying knots.
Favorite Knot App A year ago I did not prefer this app and chose Fishing Knots. It was offline on SD card and quite clear to read with pictures and strong background color. It is now a perished app. I have installed and reinstalled 7 different knot apps in the past year or two. This is the easiest app to follow for knots. Am sure the black background will be a benefit out in the sun (large orange animation on black background)---many apps expect wifi in remote areas or cannot be read in the sun. I prefer not to have to read written instructions out in the sun. This app now is SD compatible and the animations are timed to follow quite easily. So many apps expect us to have room on the phone itself just for them---it is just not possible. I find reference manuals on my SD card quite an asset. Since so many knots have different names, I would love to see a type grouping index; and of course, more knots. Thank you.
tops! best of any free 'knots' app i can find without a doubt. real big pity it is no longer maintained. even though 2017 is here, it still works on my sony z5 with mm6.0.1. yes, the pictures are not photo quality nor anything fancy, but they work well enough - that is what counts more IMHO. and it is totally free, although i would donate. free from cost and 'dangerous' permissions. thanks dev.
Download This One I just tried 4 other knot tying apps. With this one you can click forward > or backward < to see each step of the knot. You can also play it so it shows the motions from start to finish repeating on a loop. Nice!
Good application Very clear and concise. My granddaughter can tie a bowline now. Some of the knots have American names ie reef knot called square knot, but heyho. Also don't use the truckers knot(American) . It will jam under load . There's a better way of doing it
Now FREE! Thanks to all who've made this a successful and useful app!
I won't be upgrading or changing this app for new devices.
V1.03 Is able to install on sdCard. NOTE: Android 2.2+up required for this release (required for sdCard install). *** ONLY update if your device is Android 2.2 or later***
