Tidy app with potential. Firstly I was impressed that I got it for free for 6 months via EE and it's food for thought wether I should continue with the subscription after the 6 months. The problem is that it won't cast at all. There simply isn't the cast box in the top right hand corner. I have a chromecast and netflix, bbc, YouTube and all other compatible apps work fine but nothing on the bt sport app. I've uninstalled / reinstalled the app, still nothing. It works fine otherwise but just wish they'd fix this.
Good Works perfectly fine for me and I'm casting the screen to my TV right, which is perfect while I wait for BT TV and Broadband to be set up. For those having issues with the cast button, there is a known issue with Samsung phones. Try casting via the main Google Cast app first and then casting via the BT Sports after, the button should return. Alternatively, reboot the Chromecast device. The BBC Iplayer app has the exact same issue.
Jumpy Live Streaming Running on Abox running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. connected by ethernet cable. everything on the box streams beautifully, except with BT Sport app. it's very jumpy and not watchable. I have a decent connection at 29.6mb/s download and 9.49mb/s upload. So should work fine. Switching from Sky back to BT soon. if it improves then fine. otherwise i will cancel the subscription
Not bad Got 6 months free through EE. Seems to work OK and although there is no cast button it's possible if you know what you are doing. I am baseball fan and ESPN quality is not bad but BT 1, 2 and 3 sport quality is poor. Disappointed big time I can't watch live on my tablet. If this was made possible and the quality improved I would seriously think of paying after the 6 months free.
Worth changing your mobile phone provider for I changed my mobile phone provider from Orange to BT Mobile, specifically because BT Sport 1 is free to BT Mobile customers via this app, and the entire BT Sport Pack is available for £5 a month. Initially the picture quality wasn't worth paying the £5 a month for, but this latest update is a massive improvement. I would say it is now definitely worth moving your mobile phone to BT Mobile to watch Premier League matches for free on BT Sport 1 via this app, and I am even beginning to consider taking the entire BT Sport Pack for £5 a month, to watch Champions League and Europa League matches as well.
Like UFC but can't Chrome cast Not sure if bt sport understand that if you can't cast to your TV EE customers will dial out. It's not that compelling. I'll be cancelling at the end of 6 months. I would consider it if it cast. I'm not prepared to get the whole bt broadband package. So how many paying customers at the end of the 6 months will BT Sport lose? Not really bothered I guess.
Ahead of the next football season, there were a few more updates we wanted to make:
- More efficient image loading on the TV Guide
- Improvements to our enhanced player
- A few subtle UI tweaks and bug fixes.
This app works with BBC websites and apps to play BBC content on your device.
