My library also uses another system that works with the Kindle app, so maybe I'm spoiled. But there's no reason for the app to stall with a spinning checks when reopening a book or turning a page when I've opted to download the book. The reading experience is also terrible - the lines of text are packed together, the only don't options are sans serif and a dyslexic font, and a ton of space is wasted at the top and bottom of the screen. Ultimately, it's just an unpleasant reading experience.

Over all a good app to listen and read good books, but the interface sucks. Some books won't even let me read them and others I can only read half and then it won't let me continue. It's stupid how if your listening to an audio book you have to bookmark it every time you close it. The app should automatically know where my spot is and retain that info for the next time I open the book to listen. Improve your app, please, for the sake of your users.

Bad UX for listening to books. Lock screen controls do not display small increments back and forth, they are chapter jumps! I shouldn't need to fully unlock my device to jump back 30 seconds. There are no configuration options to control how far back to go, 10-15 seconds would be plenty. If you switch apps the Axis app notification disappears so you have to do the switch app button to get back to it. Libby app is so much better for audio but kids items aren't available that way.
