After trying this out in the free version and the app working as I expected with the limitations of the free version, I decided to try the paid version. As with other reviews, the paid version seems to think it's the free version and limits playback to the free version. I paid for this app because it worked really well in trial. When it works as well without the limitations, I'll consider giving it a better rating. If you can't sort the problem between free limited version and paid unlimited, I might have to see about getting a refund. The limitation of the free version did go away (don't know why). I can now connect server to render and control playback.
Would be perfect, but... The app randomly stops streaming (I've noticed it's 2- 15 minutes after I lock my phone though it's happened while it's unlocked as well) and I have to go back and select the video again and fast forward to where it left off. What's the point of buying the licence if it won't play videos for more than 15 minutes without shutting off?? I'm seriously annoyed :/ I looked through the app settings and at my phones settings (namely power saving to make sure that's not why it cuts off after the phone locks) HELP
If it's paid the bugs need to be addressed Many bugs in this application. For instance refreshing library of say a nas doesn't actually do anything. It will drop connection to the renderer occasionally on a VERY stable wired/wireless network. The app Seems to be the only viable one out there right now for my use case (control a marantz av7701 audio video preprocessor to render music). It's better than marantz' solution so 3 stars but please address some of the bugs people have mentioned they are numerous and it COULD be a fantastic app.
Fix the license issue Samsung note 7. Constantly popping up saying my license check failed. Valid license. Blames it in smart manager. Stop blaming your super paranoid licensing model on a feature built into my phone. Fix your model. Make a separate app whatever u gotta do but I'm not getting what I paid for and you're passing the buck. Do right by your customer not your wallet.
It used to work. Then with no update, it stopped seeing my media server. I updated, but it didnt fix it. Now it can't see any media renderers either. So it can't see my files, but even if it could, it couldn't play them. Rubbish. Edit - Yeah, I've done all the rebooting. Several times. And I emailed support. The response was "try a different app" so I have. Rubbish customer service as well as a rubbish app (that used to be good).
Decent app Somewhat confusing interface, it works, but it also needs another media player to work. Unfortunately I found out a few days after I bought this and Mx player that VLC can do it all for free. Granted bubble does more, can be a media streamer, etc, but I'm just trying to play media from a upnp server.
- fixed recent crash when launching the license app from app drawer with BubbleUPnP v2.7 installed (did not affect license verification in BubbleUPnP)
