Butterflies of Bulgaria is an electronic guide covering the butterfly species occurring in Bulgaria.
The app has two parts: a species catalogue and a diary of personal observations.
The catalogue offers information on all 216 species recorded in the country, and more than 550 photos in nature of 201 species. The species accounts provide up-to-date information on the species' range, distribution in Bulgaria, altitude range, flight period, larval host-plants, conservation status, legislative protection (for protected species), and other details.
With this app you can also keep a diary of your personal butterfly observations, including time and date, GPS coordinates, identification, and comments. You can easily add and edit observations, using the device GPS unit or a map to get coordinates. You can also view your observations locations on a map and export the data to use outside the app.
The catalogue and GPS functions do not require an internet connection, so they can be used on field trips in remote locations without data connectivity. Map display may not work without an internet connection.
