Overall great app and game changing probe. Both are easy to use. The app is compatible to a specific list of phones for image quality control. The company does update the list regularly - I've noticed a 6-8 week lag from phone release to addition to the list. App is easy to use one handed. They have continued to add useful features after purchase. Most recently, they added pulsed wave Doppler, which I would have expected to have included VTI calculations, but strangely have not. Maybe next time?

It's amazing that I can carry an ultrasound with me and pull it out when I need it. Company has stellar customer service - I had connection issues with my probe that was addressed quickly. One star off for nitpicking reasons. As noted previously cardiac imaging is not perfect and there is definitely room for improvement. Hopefully software can adresss the issues. Update: rolling out additional android support which is great to see.

Absolutely love my Butterfly iQs. Yes, multiple. One of the best days of my life was my wife coming home from resident clinic and asking me, "Um, so...do you think we could maybe get a Butterfly for me too?" A week later, a shiny new iQ with a USB-C cable arrived on our doorstep to complement our family's beloved Lightning version for my wife's iPhone. Some major discussion points: 1) No, it's not yet an exact carbon copy of the iOS version, but it's getting there quickly. Multiple updates since I got it, and each one better and more feature-filled than the last. 2) My Android version actually had color power doppler mode before even the iOS version did! 3) The Butterfly team has been extremely responsive throughout the whole process. Full disclosure: I'm one of the earliest adopters of the iQ probe, and have been lucky enough to get several of their products early for testing. I am NOT paid for this (or for anything else) by the Butterfly Network, nor do I work for the company in any formal capacity. BUT I've been able to discuss many of the challenges of the platform directly with the engineers and developers, and over the last 2 years or so, I have consistently seen nothing but dedication and hard work from their end to develop the product that physicians (us!) want and need, which is a tragically rare thing in the med-tech world. 4) Device compatibility - yes, it's an issue, as other reviews note. As it turns out, Android phones are all over the map in terms of hardware, which makes compatibility with a device like this super tricky. The chipset used in a phone can even vary between the US and European versions of the same phone. When the difference is the way a game's primary color swatch is displayed, it's annoying. When the difference is whether or not you make a life-saving diagnosis, there's significantly less tolerance. Yes, it's annoying to have to wait for what others have access to. But in my experience, these guys have come through with their promises every time, and I don't see any reason to expect something different this time. TL;DR: Love me some ultraportable ultrasound, can't wait to see what's coming next.
