How it works?
 
1. List your car: enter key details about your vehicle, and we will contact you to schedule the installation of our device
2. Receive bookings: once we verify their identity, drivers can reserve your car for the times you specify as available
3. Renting made easy: drivers can find your car and use their phone to unlock it independently, or inspect and sign the contract directly with you
4. Get paid: funds are transferred to your bank account within five working days after each rental

They are easy use and the cars are in good shape. HOWEVER, make sure you keep up w the extensions! I had been renting one and kept up with the with the extensions all night but I accidentally fell asleep for a couple of hours. I woke up to the parking lot security pounding on my door. The owner of the car was in the parking lot, retreiving the vehicle!! They charged me way too much in fees, dinging me a total of $716 for one day's rental. They kept taking money out of my out for up to a month!

Randomly received an email that Getaround is apparently suddenly shutting down in the US to focus on operations in Europe. Kinda weird, but I don't really care; I own my own car and haven't used their services since at least May or possibly before that. Their "fees" had gotten way out of control and they'd been forcing longtime customers to pay deposits and purchase their expensive daily insurance. So to that I say "good riddance". It reminded me to deactivate my account & delete this app. Bye!

Like for many others, the switch from the legacy app to the new app did not go smoothly. I had to re-verify my account, provide pics of my DL, add a CC, etc. The app does NOT let you do this AHEAD of time. It's bizarre. You have to first rent a car, then it asks you to verify your account. You have no idea that your account needs verification beforehand. Then you have to add a payment method. Again, you CAN'T do it ahead of time. Not to mention the random errors popping up. Bad experience.
