How to use?
- download and install the app
- activate the Universal Copy accessibility service (Settings > Accessibility)
- go to the app (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube or any app) you want to copy text from
- open your notification drawer and click on "Activate Universal Copy mode"
- tap the text you want to copy, it will highlight in blue
- click on Copy and you're done!

Note for Samsung users:
On Samsung Galaxy devices (SG 5 and later), check to see if you have App Battery Optimizer in Samsung Smart Manager app enabled. Please disable this as it is known to disable Universal Copy Accessibility Service: go to Android Settings > General > Battery > look under App Optimization and select Details. Then find Universal Copy and turn it off.

This is very useful app. It works fine with many apps and websites. But while using it with pdf files it selects whole page at a time and does not allow to SELECT text. And while copying HINDI text it does not copy correctly and words get mixed up. If these bugs are resolved it would be the best app.

Note to developers: make a help guide at the start to explain what buttons mean etc. It doesn't allow me to specifically choose a word without highlighting an entire line, then cutting it down. Becomes quite tedious. Apart from that, I think it works perfectly.

That's why there is the "full screen" mode ;) Click on the square icon in the universal copy mode action bar, the top bar will hide to let you copy the top of the screen.

Used to work, now doesn't. Htc m9. No notification, no way to activate the app. Tried force stop etc. Uninstalling as it serves no purpose.

The app is excellent, especially in conjunction with the Google translate tool. However, every so often the app disappears from the notification bar, and the *only* way I can get it back is by removing and reinstalling again.

Love this app but what pissed me asap was the “Permissions”. It observes Personal data that you type including credit card numbers and passwords. Now why in the world would you need that??

Hi, Thanks for your feedback. Actually we need this authorization for the "long click" trigger option. We listen to system keys to know if you hit one of those keys, but we don't listen to any other keys like letters and numbers. So we can't have any credit card number or anything else.

Why the Hell is this not in the millions for downloads ??? If the app can't function in some apps, it theoretically still can do this right: 1. Extract a picture from the current screen. 2. Do OCR function. 3. Give back recognized texts. It'd be great if dev can implement that.

Hi, why would you need this in the Samsung or Opera browser? You can use the normal Android copy function on these apps. The goal of Universal Copy is to let you copy the text that you could not copy otherwise, where the standard "long press and copy" function is disabled.

Universal Copy is definitely better than my phone's built-in text selection, but it won't copy spaces or tabs on drive notepad, which is frustrating.

Looks like I can copy text from a single page in one shot. How to copy chat history (instagram) which spans multiple pages (with scrolling) in one shot?
