Review from Benjamin Duan-Porter
This used to be a great app. Now, suddenly it won't load my list. Gets stuck with a loading message. Please help!
November 27, 2017This is b/c that list is being shared w/ someone on iOS or the iOS user (on the versions prior to the update) shared it with you. We know how inconvenient this is. A quick fix, you can have them create a new list w/ those items & then share it with you again, & it should work. This isn't ideal, & have the fix, but want to test before we release.
Updated review: Now that this app no longer has the local grocery deals I had to down grade this app to 3 stars. I only use this app because i have all my categories etc set up and do not want to start over using a brand new app. I now use the app Flipp to look up local grocery deals. Flipps grocery list does not have the customization features. But if they ever do, i may have to switch. The customization feature in this app are still the best. SO PLEASE BRING BACK THE LOCAL GROCERY DEALS. I WILL GIVE THIS APP A LITTLE MORE TIME TO GET IT BACK.
Stupid app keeps reenabling categories, & now we have duplicates and triplicates of the categories. There's no undo when checking an item off the list, but there sure is an undo that blocks you from disabling the categories. Even when categories are disabled categorized items still remain categorized.
The local ads thing used to be what separated this from all the other list apps. Now that that's gone, really the only reason I keep using it is because my history is there so it's easier than changing to a whole new app. If any part of the app goes sideways I'm out. Bring back that local grocery store deals thing and you got your five stars back. Oh, and you don't get access to my ZIP code or location anymore. Because the only reason you should have that was for the local ads. Funny how I can't remove that information and have to give you a fake zip code.
Not bad, but would get 5* if you allowed UK grocery deals. The MySupermarket app does this, so is better for UK users, despite yours being easier to use.
Does not allow us to add items while offline (actually, it allows, but they disappear without warning).
I started using this app with my Google Home because I hate that Google removed Keep Shopping list feature and this sounded like a good replacement. I only use the Shopping list part of this app, btw. There are lots of parts I like: The sorting by department for grocery items, that it saves custom entries and remembers them, including the price, that I can add price in general, that I can add custom categories, syncs across my phone, google home, and internet*. Parts I wish were a bit better: the click windows for checking something off are small and usually I click into editing an item instead of checking it off. I think I'd prefer a little edit button to the side and clicking it checks it off. When I'm at the store pushing a cart through people, having to go back to hit the checkmark 3 times is a pain. Also, Google home lets you add things, but it just adds a new item each time, not one of your saved recents (at least in my experience). I have "Milk" "milk" and " milk" added from Google Home. I wish it had a bit more there. The unit price feature is neat, but not as useful for certain things that come in "bags" or "boxes". Useful for produce though. * App doesn't work on my Chromebook. Hope that gets added but using the website for now.
