So with this app, it will give you the basics of what you want: means of making midis, being able to save said midis, and a way to edit them. Thing is it can get laggy when playing a song for you and obvs ads can do that too. Either way, good starter app if you plan on getting into it. Also offers a beats per second thing so that can help with rhythm.

NOT a simple editor. Keys are somehow not sequential, key C4 dropped an entire octave. Piano keys are slow to respond, and either have an annoying starburst effect or don't visually signal at all. Not easily apparent how to lengthen or insert notes.
