About this app

This app is an unofficial client of the topical Bible search from created by Casey Brooks. It started as part of the app Scripture Now, but has been released as its own standalone application.

To use, simply enter a word or phrase and hit the search icon. The app will download the results from and display them in the list below. The downloads suggestions in the background and displays them as you type.

From the official website:
This Bible is a mashup of the Yahoo! and ESV Bible web services. It searches the Internet for the topics that interest people, many of which you’d never find in a traditional topical Bible. Then it shows relevant verses.

Vote for or suggest verses that you think are especially relevant for a topic. Help improve it.

Searching for a word will automatically add it.

Please note that I didn’t come up with the list of topics or suggest the verses; people’s actual behavior has shaped them. I moderate some of the more offensive topics, however.

The topical data is available for download (updated weekly).

A Note of Caution: Always check the context of a verse; that’s why the links are there. The context of a verse might put a very different slant on what the verse seems to say. The Bible isn’t a Magic 8-Ball or a fortune cookie, so don’t treat it like one, OK?

Great to have an app! I love the website. But not being able to rate the passage as helpful or unhelpful for the topic in the app is a big deal. I could live with not being able to click on the passage to read the context in the app if I could 'vote' in the app. App improvement priorities for me would be 1 the voting. 2 a way to read the context of the passage in the app. 3 other translations for all those other picky people out there. Thanks for making the app!

Don't like how you cannot share scriptures when you find them on the app. you can't even copy and paste one to share with somebody to encourage them. It's very frustrating normally have to go to Google find the open Bible info and share from there copy and paste the URL or something of the sort to share the scriptures with somebody who needs them.

Didn't like it needs to stick with the KJV. Looks to me like it's a different version and I deleted it as soon as I saw that. It is written though shall not add or subtract from my word. Which means it's supposed to be written as it is.
