Centres4her is a mobile application developed with support from UNWOMEN and resilient Africa network. The main goal for the solution is to end violence against girls and women in Uganda. The team discovered a gap in accessing post violence by the survivor which led to effects like diseases, disability, depression which could be avoidable if they got services in time. The mobile application is contributing to the main goal by increasing confidential and fast access to post violence services by the survivors around their communities. The app has mapped most of the services providers namely;
• Police for investigation and reporting
• Medical for treatment
• Psychosocial Counseling Centres for counseling and documentation
• Shelters to provide shelter to survivors
• Toll-free help line
• Legal services.
The mobile app was piloted in Gulu and got positive feedback for the girls and women who used it. From the pilot feedback we refining the mobile app which will later this year be piloted for the second time in Makerere university for 2 months.
