Works great and does everything it's meant to do. My kids sometimes forget to close the garage door. When I notice that it's been open for a bit longer then expected, I check my Ring camera that I have mounted in the garage. If no one is present, I close the door from this app. I liked that it sounds off prior to closing to alert others. Another thing, if your having a hard time connecting to your garage opener, try one of the other settings. That's what I had to do.
Absolutely the best investment! Let me tell you why. I have two teenage girls and my hose has become a never ending highway of friends. The constantly keep giving out the code to the garage and when their friends would just open it and come in. That is over NOW! Because of the app we can control who and when comes and go! A must to have!!!!!
Initially it worked perfectly. I was receiving all of my push notifications. But recently they stopped. I had to reinstall the app. Worked perfect, then the notifications stopped....again. My phone has had a series of system updates. I'm not sure if the two are related but it sure is coincidental. Although, my husband and I have the exact same phone, he also has had a system update, but he's still receiving notifications. I guess I will have to do another reinstall.
I recently purchased this opener on Amazon to replace a 20 year old Liftmaster that didn't have MyQ technology. I never installed a grave door in my life but I decided to give it a try. I followed the instructions to the letter, and within about 4 hrs I had a brand new opener with WiFi capability. I am very satisfied with this product and I would recommend it to anyone interested in a new garage door opener.
I wanted to connect it to IFTTT, but unlike other notable smart devices, Chamberlain charges to connect. Which makes no sense, because the uptake is probably low; why not increase the usage by offering it for free like other major and notable companies do. Pure money grab, and the unit itself is expensive, so it does not make sense
Like the app; the 2-star rating is because when it doesn't work it's a pain in the neck. Luckily, it has only happened a few times, but it should be more reliable. It has left me locked out of the garage when it doesn't connect (it's a good thing we have a side entrance).
