Excellent news apps! You pretty much have to get the premium version to understand it's full potential. I tried the free version for awhile but you know you're missing out on the features that make this app unique like the bias and factuality trackers. Not sure if they fixed the paywall issues inside the app since I don't subscribe to one source. The sharing feature is still a little buggy but not bad. Wish they would make the topics section easier to browse. Overall it's still great

Does not work well with dark mode. It used to, but one of the more recent updates must have broken it. I used to pay for premium, but don't anymore. I think, other than a few minor annoyances removed, premium doesn't get you much. You still have pay walls from individual sources blocking access. The most useful thing is that you can see who has covered the topic, and then it's often better to open the source of your choice in your browser, because reading in the app can have issues.

Hi Chris, you’ll be glad to hear that the latest app edition is rolling out, and the dark mode issue has been fixed. Please update to the latest version. You can also remove paywall sources by using the Sort & Filter menu. We are not familiar with the issues while reading in the app– if you could share them with us, we’d love a chance to fix them.

I love getting a balance of news so I can see what all sides are saying while knowing the non-bias is giving the facts. However, the app has gotten frustrating to use. I used to be able to choose whether I saw stories based on timeline or bias. I loved being able to easily see where a story originated. Sometimes, it showed it started from Russia, and was deliberate misinformation. Now, it seems to randomly pick which story shows first, it's hard to navigate, and I've lost all control. Sad!

Hi Phyllis, happy to report the sort by bias/time function is still in the app. Whenever you open a story, just tap the "Sort & Filter" icon in the Full Coverage section and choose whether you want to sort by bias or time, then hit "done".
