Review from Pete Collins
Great update of a classic A game I adored on my Commodore 64, this is a brilliant conversion and the controls and interface are absolutely perfect for touch screens. Runs very smoothly on my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7, and well worth your time and money.
This is the one game I played to the end on my Spectrum (never quite finished Revenge). Of course I also made a beautiful map, which was I'm shamed to admit was what I enjoyed most! This app is a truly faithful reproduction of the original. Thankyou and well done for continuing to support it and MS's memory.
This is an excellent remake with some useful additional functions to make it easier to use such as a compass which appears if you long press the screen. I hope they can add a hall of fame feature, to show who's completed the game fastest in quest mode, campaign mode, or with the least casualties etc. Also some of the buttons could be slightly better placed. Nevertheless, well done!
Not just a nostalgia blast! I am far too young to have played LoM in the 80s and all the reviews I see seem to focus on the nostalgia factor. I was drawn to Midnight by the striking visual style and the promise of an 'epic adventure' - I was not disappointed. Younger players may need to unlearn certain accepted gaming conventions and the 'slow' pace and lack of animation may put some off, but it is worth it. Intuitive UI, in depth but not too in depth tutorial and it's £3 with no IAP and ads!
Top remake I played this game when it first came out in the 80's and it was a revelation!! This android app is very responsive and correct, also love the Ghost of the Lord of Midwinter carrying the Eye of the Moon ( a tribute to the late Mike Singleton) I saw the character in the Forest of Dreams. You cannot recruit the character and it vanishes. 10 out of 10 Top app!
Best Game Ever Returns..... I still have the original tape versions of LoM and DDR for the Speccy. They were so far ahead of their time and still work brilliantly now. I spent months at a time playing these games and kept coming back. I know there is a lot of positive nostalgia on the ratings, but it is well founded. To those few who find the pacing too slow i say that is the point; it is like a game of chess. Much much more strategy than most games around. Mike would be VERY proud of this version. Roll on DDR :)
Mike Singleton would be proud! I remember spending hours playing this as a kid, making elaborate maps on graph paper... I'd known about your PC conversion for years and happily found this today. And now I can't stop playing as I relive my youth! Thank you for doing such a fine job on an absolute belter of a game. :)
