About this game

Command the undead to take revenge on the suburbs! Oh, everyone at school laughed at you, but no one will laugh when your minions seize control of critical local infrastructure. Perhaps you’ll start by taking over a convenience store.

"Neighbourhood Necromancer" is a hilarious interactive horror novel where your choices control the story. The game is entirely text-based--without graphics or sound effects--and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Will you rule suburbia openly or skulk in the shadows? Will your necromancing impress the cool kids at school? Will you use your dark powers to destroy your home town, or save it from the secret industrial/military operatives who have come to destroy you? The choice is yours.

I actually purchased this book. The demo was so short that it didn't do the actual story justice. This game has multiple endings. You can control the dead and there is a good reason why and the game tells you at the end. Multiple endings. Where this game struggles is the characters are not Memorable or relatable. Let's just say the characters are introduced and discarded in game quite quickly. Also the endings are very abrupt. It's ok but not great.

I regret spending my money here's why: The story is so loose its nauseating. Dying is as easy as making one wrong choice and having to start over. Nothing makes sense, I had to break into a military base and didn't know why until I got an achievement or a banshee that popped up after meeting a vampire no intro. The stats changed almost randomly. It's disappointing because I was expecting something like War for the West or Breached and instead got a patchwork plot that doesn't even go together.
