About this game

Gather your allies to hunt the vampires that terrorize your town! Study their ways and exploit their rivalries, or you'll become a vampire yourself.

"Vampire: The Masquerade — Out for Blood" is an interactive horror novel by Jim Dattilo, based on "Vampire: The Masquerade" and set in the World of Darkness shared story universe. Your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

You’ve barely settled into your new home of Jericho Heights on the outskirts of Chicago, before discovering that vampires live in town. You’re struggling to start a new life, meet new people, and maybe even find love. But when your neighbors start disappearing, you’re forced to take action.

Take on the role of a vampire hunter to save your town from the influence of Chastain, a vampire more than a century old. When a group of young thin-blood vampires start a war with Chastain, will you choose sides, or hunt them all?

Not as good as the previous one. It could just be me, but this one did not hold my interest at all. The characters feel 'shallower', like there's not much there. I did not care at all what happened to anyone and it just felt empty and forced. Maybe it was less that they're lacking substance and more that there was no connection/substance between the MC and everyone else. Regardless, this is not worth the price. Hosted/Choices has much better stories that cost much less.

It's okay, but if I could get a refund I would. Definitely not worth the money after I've finished it a few times. It starts off fun and interesting and draws you in with the mystery and the set up, but it's disappointing in how it sort of deflates at the end. Too many stats, not enough points, some stats are useless and your choices suffer despite trying to play into your strengths. Plot points of interest aren't explored further and it's disappointing. Good writing tho, poor construction.

I want to like it; I'll definitely replay it. Firstly, suspension of disbelief is fine, but this feels lazy at times. Stat gains/losses are all over the place. Stats used in choices don't have enough variance for playstyles, to the point my MC was the reincarnation of Barney Fife on a Halloween special. Still, the writing itself is a pleasure. Genuinely. Also, being on the human side of the plot is a neat twist. Buy it, but don't get your hopes up for a true successor to the last entry
