Review from Thonmoy Rahman
Some light sensors on phones can tell the frequency of the light. Could you add in this feature. The developers are constantly updating the app and it has lots of tools so overall It's a great app
October 3, 2017Thonmoy, there are only two types of light sensors within most smartphones: a simple black/white light sensor for a given range of visible light, and an RGB detector (which only senses small ranges within red, blue, and green). We are not aware of any phones that use internal hardware to give full-band frequency readouts.
Great assortment of tools. BUT: - Barrometer is missing kPa used in Canada. I can utilize hPa but tool has no option to manually adjust measurement which are about 150 units less. Reading phone's sensor has no practical use. Barometric altimeter has 'set local sea pressure, thus it can be done. - Ruler is useless; after measurement both markers disappear as soon as you lift fingers. Do you expect people to have SO steady hand so they can move phone keeping 2 fingers in Exact position all the time? After measurement LEAVE markers on display AND let each marker to be further adjustable using one finger. There is no ruler calibration.
Unuseful - e.g. sound meter measures about 40 db of sound pressure in a silent room with closed doors and windows. You should add a calibration function like in the g-meter tool, otherwise just a normal conversation is measured like a jet taking off or you have to subtract 25-30 db from the displayed value to have a more realistic information. For the other tools I don' t have enough expertise to have an opinion.
I downloaded this app to collect gps data, but when I stop data collection it won't save a csv file, it does save a file for other sensors though, but I don't need those ones. Also I can not view the data or it's graph after it's been saved in the app, which is extremely annoying.
Great assortment of interesting tools that can be adapted for use in activities such as student science projects.
All working Very nice app btw. Mic and sound sensors are working now after device reboot. I tested my mic with sound recorder and nothing was heard, rebooted and all fine.
This is the perfect program to discover late at night, it has serious neat-o factor indeed.
Added landscape support for Compass.
Added landscape support for GPS mode.
Added landscape support for Spectrogram.
Tone generator manual frequency input improved.
Fixed a GPS mode bug preventing data recording.
Barometer mode now by default displays data in Pa instead of hPa.
Minor bug fixes.
