About this app

Gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation are unique and distinct concepts with radically different implications for somebody’s day-to-day lived experiences, but in society they are often used interchangeably. Clarity is a mobile app that can help you gain greater insight into your gender and sexuality in a way that’s dignified and affirming.
Using Clarity, you will follow a guided experience through different aspects of self-identity. You’ll start by using a series of sliders to input where you feel you fit on the spectrums of gender identity, gender expression, and attraction. The app then aggregates this input to give you some guidance and insights. If you are questioning your identity, your self-perception may fluctuate over time as you experiment and discover what feels right and what doesn’t. As you go through this process, you can return to Clarity and update the responses.
Unlike many of the tools that are currently out there, this doesn’t just replace the previous responses, but rather adds to them, meaning that the more you use Clarity, the more accurate its assessment becomes.
Clarity is being designed with privacy, dignity, and affirmation at its core.

Like other reviews have said, the sliders are a bit weird and only look at things in 2 ways. I suggest adding another option for attraction, where it measures the level of attraction in addition to the slider that measures who. For the aspecs out there. Otherwise, it's been a useful tool to keep track of how things fluctuate and what the actual average for me is.

Great concept! Severely lacking in application of concept. Gender, expression, and attraction are not binary, nor are they simply integer lines, and the way the sliders snap to fixed positions is very inaccurate to myself. This is also very non inclusive of aspec people and non binary people as a whole. This needs a total overhaul.

The app itself is fine, I guess? The minimalist sliders are very pretty looking, but also feel a touch meaningless. If you're going to try and data-ize gender, just go all the way and show number of percentage or something. It also has a (as far as I can tell) completey unnecessary account feature. This could've been entirely local and nothing would've changed aside from the fact that development would be cheaper and there'd be less of a security risk.
