I love Classpass. I mostly book my classes online, and use the app to get directions quickly when I'm on my way to class. I don't understand all the negative reviews.
tldr; good app, hohum service. While I find the app works pretty well, it has a nice UI and I haven't had too many problems with the app. My problems stem from the product overall. While I understand (a little) charging for missed classes and late cancels, but how on earth can a service based in NYC not recognize issues like weather, that would prevent users from making their class time. I'm also really disappointed in this reactivation fee. I was hoping to use this heavier in the cold/wet months and then take a break during the summer, but I don't think that will be happening. I love that I can spend less for a variety of classes, and with the 5.class/20 credit tier, I can supplement my own regular workouts with this, only because my apartment has a gym. If I had to pay for a gym membership and this, I wouldn't.
I like the app in theory, but my city(Memphis, TN) is not supported. I couldn't find any links to suggest local studios for the program either. Feels like a waste.
I couldn't work out how to see class availability without signing up.
Log in is completely broken - app isn't useable
The cancellation and missed class fees charged by classpass will kill you, and they aren't clearly upfront about what the fees actually are. Instead cancellation fees seem only to be noted in the TOS where they are hidden behind a hyperlink and in the confirmation email where, if you've registered for the class within 12 hours, it becomes too late to cancel even if you do it immediately upon registration. Usually, the cancellation or missed class fees is higher than the number of credits it cost to register for the class in the first place. I'm currently doing yoga teacher training. At first I was pretty happy to recommend this app to other students and people I meet along the way. The fees associated with using this app create a strong disincentive to recommend it in the future.
