Unusable for me 7/2014 not sure which is to blame-the app, or the phone, but I could not exit out of the app once it was started. There is no pause button, nor a quit option in the menu. I had to go into the phone menu and do a force stop. The other issue I had is that it only displays as landscape, and my phone holder is vertical. Update with new phone and stereo 8/7/15- still same issues as before, and doesn't work as connected app with Kenwood stereo, just plays through Bluetooth audio. Bad interface for car use.
Have never gotten it to work The app has never connected to my Kenwood stereo even though it supposedly has iheartradio support built in. At least, it doesn't work over Bluetooth. Disappointing since other apps (Pandora, etc) work fine.
Landscape only? I was expecting more from this app as I love the regular iHeart Radio app and it works so well. This mobile version only works in landscape mode and my car mount is portrait. Also as others have pointed out you can't exit the app easily. When they do some more work on this app it will be useful but until then keep using the regular iHeart app and save yourself the frustration.
The market for listening to music is shifting from owning music to listening to music and streaming. Apple recognizes this and is preparing its own streaming radio service. Google Play Music yesterday came out with a free streaming radio service. Spotify is very good and Pandora has been around for a while now. iHeart Radio I think offers the best of everything: radio stations across the U.S. by genre with commercials, Internet mix radio stations with few commercials, as well as custom stations you can create yourself. The bit rate streaming quality is good at 128 kbs , which is better than Pandora's 64 kbs free service. It came bundled with my new Nissan SUV and I now listen to it in my car and on my Android phone. iHeart has a diversified catalog of pop, rock, indie, jazz, talk, etc. I think it cannot be beat and best of all is 100% free. My new favorite music streaming app !
$1,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 surplus of entertainment! Everything in this country I love so much is going to "hell in a handbasket" as the expression goes, EXCEPT my good ole HEART RADIO. Abundance, advantage, perfection, adequacy, enough, plenty, success, satisfaction, efficiency, excess and superfluousnes are just a few ways to describe the surplus of entertainment you get from the wizardry of HEART radio. I believe if the country were run by these people, there would always be a surplus. There is no better listening experience at any price...or even free.
No way to exit app There is no way to exit the app while I am connected to my car. Tech support says go under apps and force close. Not real good while driving. Just need an exit button.
