Possibly the worst idea ever for an app. Locks up $100 of your money on a Friday night for a tab even if you end up only spending $20. The money doesnt return to my account until Monday. Also can't believe it charges the user for paying. Surely the charge should be with the bar that accepts the payment. Ridiculous idea, this app is bound to fail.
I love Clipp and highly recommend! My biggest complaint is the nearly constant notifications (DAILY!!) with the Clipp news, but no way to disable them. I can block notifications, on my Android, but that would block all notifications from the app- including the tab updates...
Good idea let down by a group that apparently doesn't believe in testing. This auto split farce is the last straw.
Uninstalled $1.50 charge is not worth it. Surely Clipp should be putting the whole charge on the venues for the service and not customers. Sure venues would be more than willing to pay a premium to remove the hassle of running traditional bar tabs. Makes no sense to penalise the customer. "We are immune to NFC skimming" = "we cant really justify the charge so we will say it stops something that doesn't exist" even if NFC skimming was actually rife enough to cause any kind of real threat, people still have their wallets on them with NFC cards in them while they are in the pub using the app, so it negates it anyway Just trying to get every last cent they can, money grabbers
I loved this until the $1.50 charge each time I use this. Makes it not worth using over paywave on my phone, which is free.
Works on a good day, may not work for other days
Introducing Clipp Cash as a new payment method. It beats the credit cards blues. No Clipp service fee on transactions, and credit card pre-authorisations are not required.
