About this app

Cloakfone provides a fast and simple means to selectively cloak and uncloak your phone number on a per callee basis thereby enhancing your basic human right to privacy.

Privacy is a fundamental right which is all to often forfeited from a simple phone call. Many customer relationship management systems (CRMs) record inbound phone numbers and profile conversations, adding this scavenged detail to ever expanding personal profiles. These profiles are syndicated across multiple parties, violating basic human rights to privacy through the unauthorised sharing of information. The sharing transcends long standing ethical boundaries and is highly exposed to misinterpretation, but worst of all operates without your knowledge and without any right of redress on your part. In the simplest case it manifests as large scale targeted advertising and incremental costs, in the worst case as rejected or restricted access to goods and services such as insurance and medical care.

Protecting your phone number significantly limits the ability for CRMs to identify a profile thereby enhancing your basic right to privacy.
