I really tried to like this game. But I am uninstalling it. The design has so many annoyances, I can't enjoy playing it. The inventory system is a visual nightmare. The game design is unintuitive. The questing system is overly complicated for a game that's about being a shop keeper. The craftable items are identical to the ones in the original game, so there was no innovation or creativity there. Gone is the ability to donate gold to a city to improve it. Instead, it seems to be automatically upgraded as you play the game, which prevents players from focusing on specific areas to improve. But the thing that finally pushed me to quit was, if you get kicked out of a city for any reason, you can't join another for 12 hours. It was extremely punishing to get kicked from a city because I needed 8 hours for sleep, only to find I couldn't rejoin one the next morning. This system gives city leaders way too much power over players' game experience, and not in ways that improve it.

The game was passable to start - not as good as the original in many aspects in terms of ease of access, but decent. The latest update turned it into hot garbage though, decimating the energy system and making the UI look like it was designed by a particularly untalented 10-year-old. It also removed several quality of life features and didn't add any of note. Don't bother with the game in its current state.

Unlike a lot of people, it seems, I actually like the latest update. However, there's a lot about the game at it's core that needs addressing to make it as functional as the original Shop Heroes. Most of my issues are on the hero/questing side of things, primarily the loop of obtaining treasure. Unlike the old game, there's no way to gather these automatically, so the loop is currently to assemble a team and go through long menus to get 2-9 ingredients every 3 minutes... And you need THOUSANDS.
