Simply does not work. Two APs, same name. Set limit to -70dB. It's still connected to a -89dB AP while there is one available at - 60dB. This is manual switching BTW, since only the paid for version allows auto switching, but when the manual switching doesn't even work, I doubt the auto switching will work either. Broken app. Don't waste your time.
Just moved into a new place and installed a repeater as a stopgap until I decide on a higher end WiFi system to implement. This app does the job well- especially once you map out your signal strength in areas of your house. Then you can tune the app to switch when you need it to. Since I just picked up the app and gave 5 stars I'll come back with any criticism over the coming weeks, but so far so good.
Will you be creating one for IOS? I emailed you and did not get a response so I thought this would be my next best option! I will change this to 5 stars once you respond. Thanks,
Great app. For this to work properly I had to rename my extended network a different name. I don't recall reading this in the description so hopefully that helps other users. Now it is working seamlessly while I walk around the house.
Don't buy this app. Very poor in it's current state. This app has trouble switching by itself. It only seems to switch wifi when I wake the phone from standby. Won't do it by itself. So many negative reviews with connection issues. Please fix this.
Works perfectly, just what I was looking for. I have 3 routers in a cascade in my home, broadcasting the same SSID on 3 different channels. By default, android was never switching between the channels even if the signal became very poor. Using this app with the threshold at - 60db it works perfectly, switching automatically and fast as I walk around the house. I also want to point out that the negative reviewers seem to be mostly from people who don't understand how this is supposed to work. First off, the developers have stated that the location access is only necessary in marshmallow or higher because scanning for wifi networks is considered a location finding service. If you do not want the app due to this., that is fine, but it is not a good reason to rate the app poorly when the developers are completely up-front about it. Aside from that, the app works by letting you set a threshold signal strength at which it will look for wifi networks with a stronger signal. This works perfectly so far in my experience. I don't feel I've used the app enough to know its impact on battery life, but I will update this review if I run into any issues.
