I purchased the app. I wouldn't recommend it though. What I don't like about it is that the zoom doesn't go beyond x19 for all maps overlays. The offline map download function frequently crashes. The compass seems also unreliable on an ASUS ZenFone. Some bugs got fixed in the latest version, like the finish flag always pointing to the first waypoint of the last recorded track. But still is not perfect overall
An absolute lifesaver when out hiking.
Still doesn't work on high-resolution screen It has been my beloved application until I upgraded my telephone to Lg G3 a year ago. On its high-resolution screen I see nothing: details are too small. I don't use Maverick anymore. There are a lot of applications which doen't have this problem. I have purchased Alpinequest instead. Resolve this issue and I will return.
Problems with offline maps I bought the Pro version because of the map download capability, but this just doesn't seem to work for me. I select and download the area I want, but the maps don't seem to be available when I'm offline. Eg selected Ord Survey maps, selected area in UK lake district for download ( download appears to work) but the maps are not there when offline. Also there doesn't seem to be a way of managing map storage to use the SD card. I think I have wasted my money.
I am in China and this works better than all the others I have tried. First thing that could be improved is that there are no English labels at all yet other apps had this. Secondly the direction marker is always wrong by more than 90 degrees although the direction of travel is accurate. When it doesn't have a detailed map why does it let you zoom in and then just show you a gray screen? And also I removed the zoom buttons in options but they keep coming back.
Good navigator The Maverick GPS is a great app. It uses very low amounts of battery. It's nice for when you want to go out and get lost. This app will get you back to the start. It tracks every yard you move and every foot you climb very accurately. It is missing a few trails, here and there though.
