Definitely helps keep distractions at bay! The tracks on this app greatly diminish the ability outside forces have to yank away your focus by drowning out the outside world with a variety of pleasant cafe sounds. I've tried playing music to mask the distractions, but I tend to just get into the songs, the words, the beats, my mind focuses on the music instead of what I'm trying to read or write. The murmering and chatter is unrecognizable so your brain doesn't have specific words to latch onto and pull you out of focus, and the track lasts long enough that you don't lose focus every 3 minutes. The app is very simple and just gives you the option of three different tracks in different settings. For the most part, the sounds do what they're supposed to, however I find a couple of the effects to be a little bit distracting; mostly the occasional vocal sounds that might be reused a couple times too often. I'm also hoping the developer can improve the track looping, as there is a noticeable break when it starts over, and perhaps include lock screen control. Otherwise, it just does what I need!
Wonderful I absolutely love this app. I'm an incredibly extroverted person, but I find myself alone often, either writing papers for class or reading at home. This app helps me feel comfortable with the silence of the world around me. Believe it or not, it even helps me sleep. I'd love to have an option that has music in it. Nothing fancy, just some relaxing coffee shop jazz in the background.
The best Ive been on a hunt trying to find the best sound effects app; most of them are ones to help you sleep. I found one that didnt have great quality but had a coffee shop sound, except when the app doesnt run on top, the sound doesnt play, so i cant keep listening while i answer a text. Coffitivity plays in EXCELLENT quality and in the background, perfect for all my needs. Download this app and you will not regret it.
If this is beta... It's pretty darn good. I have extreme tinnitus in one ear. While I use pink noise masking often, this app offers welcome a welcome addition from a surprising source. Thanks so much for offering a working alternative. Can't wait to hear what's next. .maybe primary school lunch room the day before winter vacation? U of OREGON Autzen football stadium with its world renowned surround sound?
Great app. Could use some Android Design Guidelines love. Good features. Makes my work day go by better, more productive. I noticed it doesn't respect the Audio manager, so if there's a phone call or other sounds happening, it doesn't "mute" or lower volume and then pick up again after. In fact, in a phone call it kept going on in the background and the other party could clearly hear it through the speakers. Also, maybe a persistent notification with play/pause controls would be handy for those times when you want to quickly get to the app while doing something else on the device. Great app otherwise, keep it up!
Very good idea, but poorly executed For someone who's been going to Coffey shops to find the ability to focus enough to write, this is going to be a huge help, so thank you!. Negative points: low resolution sound files, with "digital crackle", and shallow three-dimentionality. Three soundcapes are recreated by the same amount of recordings, whereas a system of a random combination of several tracks would have been much better, as the point of such an app is to give the subconcious mind something to engage in, and as soon as it starts to recognise a recording from before, it will loose interest. Settings button does not work.
We launched! Still in Beta - please send us feedback when ever possible.
