Interesting idea, obviously in beta Clever idea, I do find I work better in coffee shops but I feel it's because I'm around other people rather than the noise level. This app has three different sounds and works exactly as it should in terms of playing the audio. The app clearly isn't finished yet but it's in beta. There's only one option in the menu (Settings) and it doesn't even do anything. No customisation or options at all. I'll update this review when the app is complete to see how far it's come.

No settings & does not run in the background The "settings" option does nothing. One could expect at the least a timer. The app does not run in the background, so if you close the screen to do something else the program closes. While I'd like to give a star for effort to a free program, one is better off running a sound file through one's music player. C'mon guys. Complete your project before offering it to the public.

Not properly written to run in the background This app does not register a persistent notification in the tray, so if you switch to a different app it will eventually get killed by Android to recover memory. This might happen immediately or after several minutes, but the clock is running as soon as you switch away from the app. Great app idea - please get it to run properly in the background so I can enjoy it without constantly restarting it!

A few suggestions The loops are too short. Record longer loops. Also, splice the loops seamlessly. There shouldn't be a distinct noticeable splice and absolutely no silence when the loop repeats. Lastly, the loop shouldn't start from the beginning everytime. Randomize the start point so the brain doesn't get too accustomed. Otherwise, once the loop become stale, it's no longer effective. This app is a nice start though. It just needs some work before it gets a perfect rating.

A strong concept I am a huge fan of you desktop program, so having a mobile version should be wonderful. Unfortunately I can't run anything other than this app while it's playing. That makes multitasking nearly impossible. If I don't need to use my phone everything works really well. Thanks for the start.

Nice! I loved how it didnt require any special permissions! Does the sound have to strictly be a coffee-shop setting, or can we include other sounds playing over the coffee shop? I wouldnt mind hearing the odd car go by, or birds tweeting! EDIT: I forgot to mention, can we have a seperate volume slider for Coffeetivity sounds? Also, settings does not appear to work.

Such a simple idea! You guys have hit it right on the head. I downloaded this app on my Macbook because I was curious, and it has become indispensable to me while I'm studying. The only thing I would like is the ability to control the volume of coffitivity exclusively, because I too use it in conjunction with Spotify focus playlists, and find that the music is much louder than coffitivity. Maybe have the option to put coffitivity on a different media stream, like android's "Notification s" stream or something like that.
Great app. Could use some Android Design Guidelines love. Good features. Makes my work day go by better, more productive. I noticed it doesn't respect the Audio manager, so if there's a phone call or other sounds happening, it doesn't "mute" or lower volume and then pick up again after. In fact, in a phone call it kept going on in the background and the other party could clearly hear it through the speakers. Also, maybe a persistent notification with play/pause controls would be handy for those times when you want to quickly get to the app while doing something else on the device. Great app otherwise, keep it up!
Love the app but.... This mind sound stupid, but maybe adding more options/environments. I know they all generally sounds the same but it's just the idea that the conversations are continuous and not on repeat that would really make the app perfect for me. I don't know if that makes sense but either way, what you got so far is pretty good.
Simple app. Clean UI & Love coffee but needs some further Android integration: all I see is three sound bottoms and Settings that do not work. Needs to run in background with small memory footprint (eg using notification); choice if more tracks. On HTC One 4g (4.4.2,5.5): v1.0.2 dd Nov.2013
Awesome Background Noise for Concentration Thanks for making a portable version so I can use it with my Bluetooth earphones instead of having to use my wired headphones at work. It is awesome for helping me focus at work. I also have the problem where pressing on the "Settings" button gives me nothing for now, but I'm sure this will be fixed. Five stars just for making it portable and useful :)
I liked it. It's a great app but there are still lot of things that have to be improved. First problem that I encountered was the settings button not working. After that I found the app was just too big in size. Also, there weren't many noise options available to choose from. Furthermore, there is no way for the user to adjust volume from inside the app or to set the app to turn off after a given interval of time.
These Sounds Work Best for Me Simple app plays sounds of people having coffee in cafe, coffee shop, cafeteria, etc. Some people talking about whatever in background, handling coffee, spoons...No music, crickets, thunder, rain or mind-altering harmonics. Not visually distracting. I have ADD but this helps me focus. Vibe is intelligent, active; good balance of energy & calmness. Maybe next add option of background noise of coffee time on a plane trip? Engines and airflow adds more white noise to the mix.
Really cool concept. Would love more selection of audio, and much longer recordings. Also, a variety of locales, from different cultures and languages. I could see your having 6-8 locales in the free version, and for a buck you can buy a pack of 8-10 recordings from venues around the world. Scandinavia, southern Europe, North America, South America, Asia, etc. Each one you charge for. I'd blow a few bucks on that just for the variety. But LONG clips please! Just suggestions. Cool idea! I hope you make a fortune from it.
Good app Good to begin with in beta stage. As for feedback 1. The size of the app is huge! . 2. Things you can include - a. A volume slider. b. Higher resolution image of controls. c. Links to research study. e. Image slide show for background play. f. A clock widget - digital or analogue. g. Weather update. h. An option to play from within Google now cards. i. Player controls in the notification panel for background play. j. In-built music player to play other music if I wish through the app.(Keep e.-i. optional)
Pretty good! This app is amazing for blocking the sound of my neighbor playing opera music! My only issues are the settings button doesn't work and I don't like the quality of the images for the play, pause, etc. buttons. Fix these and I'll give you the stars you deserve!
I like it! 👍 Just a few things tho... Just a few things that could be fixed though: the sound should stop if I answer a phone call, the volume should be adjustable, and it would be nice if I could pause/play from my notification bar instead of opening the app eveytime I need to pause/play. Other than that, it's been really helpful so far!
Great Concept! Not perfected. I love the concept of this application, it does help me focus, but I have found errors on the other hand. The first error I have found out is that the settings button doesn't work. But the other major error I have found it that the sounds will only go on for about 5 minutes then stops. From here I would have to drive myself away from my work to play the sounds again. It would be so much better if it was set into a loop.
Very handy, simple app that doesn't ask for any permissions on your phone This app is a handy way to drown out the noise around you with the soothing background chatter of humans. I'll give it 5 stars once they add independent volume control in the app so you can set the volume of the chatter relative to the volume of your music. Works fine on my Note 3.
Great little app Helps my concentration fantastically. My only, ONLY wish would be a rainy day at a coffee shop. Rainy days are very rare where I am and having the sound of a coffee shop during a thunderstorm would be incredible. Keep up the awesomeness!
Abandoned This app hasn't been updated for more than 2 years. Nice beta. It's funny how they were asking for feedback to improve this. Here's mine: add more tracks, update the UI and add a dark theme. I don't think you'll ever do it but anyway.
If this is beta... It's pretty darn good. I have extreme tinnitus in one ear. While I use pink noise masking often, this app offers welcome a welcome addition from a surprising source. Thanks so much for offering a working alternative. Can't wait to hear what's next. .maybe primary school lunch room the day before winter vacation? U of OREGON Autzen football stadium with its world renowned surround sound?
Interesting It quite interesting. I have some suggestions: the settings menu don't work and you probably recorded the audio somewhere, right? What if there were various café places arround the world with their respective sounds?
Okay but.. Settings button does nothing. When I receive a phone call, the sounds keep on going in the background. Will be better if we can stop the sounds from the notification bar. Nice and effective concept though. Will rate again after the app is updated.
Neutral An extension to a great website so I'm sure it's not intentional. Avast for Android reports a "Potentially Unwanted Program" titles "Lootor-Z" in this app. Can you get Avast to sort their definitions out, or resolve it if such problems exist with the software?
Needs more I used this as an online app for a long time for studying and liked it a lot. Setting button does nothing. The tracks are very short which would be ok if it had a repeat/continuous play option. Looking forward to updates eventually
Should have waited Like the concept but technically this one is really weak. Settings button did nothing. App crashed after a couple minutes. For such a simple app the fact that you can't store the sound files (encrypted maybe?) to storage means giving up a lot of RAM. Uninstalling.

I apologize you didn't like the app! I haven't seen the crash problem before, it just crashed while it was running? It's ok I love the coffitivity website but i was disappointed with this app. I couldn't open the settings option at all. It would be nice if in the future there were a timer, and also maybe the option to send in our own noises directly to coffitivity through this app. It has a lot of potential and I'll be greatly anticipating updates!! Thanks!
Settings Failure, Too Few Options Like others, the Settings button didn't work for my device. But as soon as I realized there are only three recordings and they sound identical to each other, I knew I'd be uninstalling anyway.
This is an amazing app but there're a few things missing. Like the possibility of it still running even if you close the app. Also add more noise such as rain and other relaxing things. I hope that you'll improve and continue developing this!
Wonderful The app is really cool, but a couple of ideas! You could include a banner in the notification list so that you could pause the track from anywhere and also make a sleep timer so that it switches off after a while
Perfect The app is amazing - I'm a long time user of your website. One inconvenience I'm having is that I use the app "Task Killer" so my phone isn't slow and laggy and when I clear my tasks while this app is running in the background, it stops playing. This doesn't happen with Spotify or Google Music Player. If you could fix this, it would make the app flawless. Thanks :)
Helps me concentrate It's helping me concentrate and I have been looking for something like that is for awhile! Thank you! Con: It stops after about 15 min. Am I the only one experiencing this problem? Also the setting button does not work, nothing pops up when I press that.

Looking into the looping problem now!
- UPDATE - not seeing that problem Heidi. Hmmm. Interesting, let me know if it keeps happening I suppose! Great job! Love the whole concept! I have a nexus 4 and the settings button doesn't do anything but other than that this app is amazing . anyone who needs to get down to work at home or traveling will love this app!
Love I never leave reviews on apps. But I've been using coffitivity for about a year now and swear by it. It really helps for when I'm stuck studying in my room on a rainy day. I dislike associating homework with my bedroom, but this app makes me forget that I am there and thus be productive!
Basic nice background noise for when it's too quiet Provides a nice background sound. Settings button does nothing, however. Ideas for new features: 1) Chromecast support. 2) Allow a mix of this background sound and other music from your device.
Some problems need to be solved The setting button does nothing... When move to another app there is no notification on the notification bar to control it through. However, great work guys.
Good work so far Could use a sticky notification while playing. What it absolutely needs is to pause when the headphones get unplugged! Ironically this annoys others when I'm working at coffee shops and forget that the app doesn't pause like all my other apps that play media when I take my headphones out.
Just a minor glitch. I've always found Coffitivity to boost my focus and set a creative ambiance. The settings button still remains unfixed, however, irresponsive when pressed. Nonetheless, this is a great app to keep in any occasion.
One of the best app ever I rarely comment, but this one is one that I adore. It's hard to create daily playlist for worj, as rather as hard to work in silence or unfriedly noisy offi e. This app is a solution. It helps to concentrate on work and to be annoyed by surrounded noises and speaking.
