"...with an effortless swipe of the finger, you slice open the patient's skin. A gentle pinch and the flesh is prised apart to reveal layers of tissue. Another swipe and a pair of scissors descends into view and begins to cut into the muscle. A few more swipes, taps and pinches and, hey presto, you've removed an appendix..." The Guardian

Gain easy acess to the award-winning AO Surgery Reference. AO Surgery Reference is an online repository for surgical knowledge. It describes the complete surgical management process from diagnosis to aftercare for all fractures of a given anatomical region, and also assembles relevant material that the AO has published before. It gives access to:
* Hundreds of surgical procedures and approaches
* Surgical decision making made easy with literature evaluated and prepared for quick reference
* Hundreds of pages of previously published AO material
The idea behind this service is the realization that reference in daily clinical life is often difficult. Frequently, there is little time during a hospital day to consult books or journals, or even to perform a literature search in order to gather evidence for a decision. The AO Surgery Reference allows surgeons to access much of the body of surgical knowledge for reference purposes during their clinical work.
You might also want to visit the full-featured web-based version of AO Surgery Refence at www.aosurgery.org.
For each surgical procedure, you will find a detailed explanatory text and each step of the technique. You can hide it and show again when you need it while viewing the animation.
This application is designed for students of dentistry and dental practitiones who wish to update their knowledge of advanced periodontal surgery techniques.

Mohs micrographic surgery is a complex, specialized technique for the treatment of difficult or recurrent skin cancers. This procedure differs from all other types of surgical procedure because you get the benefit of one individual acting as your surgeon and pathologist; in addition 100% of the surgical margins are examined microscopically. As a result, supported by scientific literature, cure rates frequently are higher and healthy tissue surrounding the skin cancer is preserved.
Your skin is much more than just a protective covering – it is the largest organ in your body. Keeping your skin healthy is essential to your overall wellness. While some skin conditions can cause discomfort, irritation, or embarrassment, others can be potentially life-threatening. At The Center for Dermatology Care in Thousand Oaks, our dermatology professionals treat the full range of skin concerns for patients of all ages, so that you can have healthy skin for life.
As a recognized expert in Mohs surgery and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Kaufman is the author of numerous publications on facial reconstruction following skin cancer surgery and is a frequently invited speaker at international meetings on that subject as well as topics related to skin cancer and cosmetic surgery.
