* Love it! Fantastic fun space RPG for long play session gamers. Hope to see the player's crew & ships grow with time. Any plot twists like KOTOR & Mass Effect storyline? Looking forward to Star Traders 2. Thanks for a wicked game! ;)
Spectacular game, as with all These Brothers games. No IAPs, no micro transactions, just hours, days and weeks of gameplay. Well worth buying the full version of all of their games if only to support game developers that are about gaming not about how much they can extort from the community. In fact the opposite is true, Cory and his brother give so much to their communities, they're almost always around on their discord servers, bugs are splatted hours after reporting and answers to questions are quickly forthcoming. Best devs and best games no matter the platform. As for the game itself it's a proper old school space version of Sid Meier's Pirates, easy to pick up, difficult to master at higher difficulty levels. As good as it gets for free, but the couple of quid to upgrade to elite is money well spent.
Looks ok at first glance, rather complex though, and no tutorial. Hmm. I will give it some time, looks like this game demands a bit of an investment, time-wise. Any online manuals/strategy guides?
I love this game, but it seriously needs balancing. I'm playing on Hard. Blockading and Surveillance appear to be pointless. They needlessly antagonise some factions and don't yield enough money. As well as, Patrolling for ships, all three use up too much Water-Fuel. Also, combat needs too much money to fix the ship after you win. This makes all of the above even more worthless on Hard. Contracts give decent money, but shortages blow this out of the water. I can make more money in one shortage than in 10 contracts and that is quite frustrating. Assassination and Capture contracts are possible, but not worth it. It is too difficult since the mark can evade in even the first turn, and again, it is expensive. There is no advantage to promotions? I have reached Rank 10 with Cadar when playing on Easy and there appear to be no benefits. The amount of conflicts with each faction can make trading very, very difficult, especially the Trade Embargos. I think that losing 10 reputation simply for buying some Water-Fuel is way too much. Exploration is decent as far as I have seen, but I don't use it too much. Essentially, what I am saying is that on Hard and higher difficulties, it seems to me that the only way to survive and make money is to do contracts and trade during shortages. You can't be a pirate or a brigand because it just costs too much. It would be nice if the game could be tweaked a little to balance these aspects a bit more. This is still a great game and I love it. I'm considering buying Elite, but I think that the game isn't quite perfect yet. Thank you.
Should've changed it to This War Of Mine in Space. When every faction declare war on each other, you can't even buy gas. Shortage? Bam! Immediate wanted criminal.
I hope Star Traders 2 comes out for Android 4.0.
