I have cox contour for my home. This app will not show all the channels I currently pay for even tho I am logged into my private cox account. I can't watch any shows that I have recorded at home, on this app. You can't watch a show that newly aired on tv, you have to wait a day before it's available. Most of the stations you can't watch outside of your home, and that all in itself makes this app kinda pointless. Why would I want to watch t.v on a 2x6in phone when I have a 55in tv??
You mean to tell me that if I take a month long trip from home, I have to pay you full price for 52 channels that I don't even watch??? The availability of "TV go" channels is severely disappointing and most certainly not worth the money.
Did the update for the "TV GO" feature (supposed to be something like 52 channels) but I see NO OPTION for this TV GO... anywhere. Also, once I updated and went to "Live TV" I was scrolling the channels and my entire phone froze up. It's laggy, freezing up, etc. since I updated... and I see no "TV GO" filter or anything anywhere saying TV GO.
I thought Comcast was bad. Cox takes a simple program that let's you watch shows away from home and creates a disaster. I don't own a TV. Who would in 2017? I watch programming on my phone. This app could not be less functional and still be labeled an app. Almost every station has some restrictions . Programs will be available but unplayable. "In home" wtf is the point of this. I spend 20 hours a week in an airport. The app could be perfectly functional I know this because xfinity works and Comcast is almost anti human.
Not sure why Cox says some TV stations only allow you to watch while on your home network, that's "fake news." I used to have Comcast's Xfinity X1 service in Virginia and their mobile app allows you to watch every station, everywhere; you are not restricted to your home network. So, it's not the stations that don't permit it, it's Cox. They're just not as good a company as Comcast I guess, but they still charge just as much, of course.
I work for Cox. There's been a lot of contour suggestions from my co-workers. Mine, pertaining to the app, is you should be able to control the content on your TV from the app. Pause, play, change channels, and even use the voice control from contour 2 from your phone. Even if it needs to use Bluetooth to control instead of wifi (like the remote), it would be a 1 up and make the app more useful than a 'watch movies when away from home' app. I'm hardly away from home and never watch Netflix or Hulu, or now, cable when away from home. That's something done traditionally at home, and to have an edge in this market, connecting a smartphone for control rather than streaming is becoming a must. I can control Netflix when playing on my tv, from my phone. No matter what device I'm streaming Netflix from. That shows true through all of the media streaming apps on the market.
