About this app

Simple open-source app to stream music from your own Subsonic or Navidrome servers or your phone's storage.

Chora has a very simple and modern UI, following Material 3 guidelines, and a native Android TV UI, with support for Android Auto aswell.
Source Code Available Here: https://github.com/CraftWorksMC/Chora

**Important: Chora does not provide any music by itself. It's merely a front-end for Subsonic servers and/or local storage, meaning the end user has to provide the music files.**
Listen to music from Subsonic or Navidrome servers.

Decent Subsonic client app, it works very reliably and smoothly. I have had no problems with the app itself. The interface is very nice to look at. It is a bit simple for what I need. The song download feature is confusing. I download a song but it isn't available when I am not connected, and I don't see it in my downloads folder.

Since 1.29 it now supports downloading albums too. The songs and albums get downloaded to the Music folder, not in the downloads folder. It will be configurable in a future update. Downloading songs doesn't override the Subsonic provided songs yet. You'll need to add the Music folder as a local source in the media providers settings.

Works ok. Some songs don't play in Chora although they do play ok on a web session (on the same navidrome server, device and network). There may be a good reason for this but I cannot find any screens to help with troubleshooting on the app interface.

Very nice! But I'm unable to read album titles since the albums underneath cover the text. Also would be nice if I could scale down the UI a bit. Buttons, text and everything is too large, it feels wrong. The search button is quite far up, not too comfortable to reach for it, maybe a dedicated search menu where it directly opens the keyboard when you enter it? Playlist image with the Play and Shuffle cover too much, despite scrolling.
