Predator is a minimalistic client for ProductHunt. It shows latest products and collections fetched via ProductHunt API. It also offers other information like media and comments associated with that product.

Features:

• Minimal and simple user interface, which user can get easily acquainted with.
• View latest posts, collections and user profiles from ProductHunt.
• Check out the media and comments of a particular post and share them with anyone.
• Sync data in the background even if the app is not running, so you can remain up to date with the latest posts and collections (Optional, can be activated via application settings).
• Delightful animations to encourage the user experience.
• Custom themes to suit your personal needs, the application contains Light, Dark, and AMOLED themes.

It makes no sense to be asking for contact permission. This is probably spyware. Use Jager, it doesn't ask for ANY permissions.

Hi julian, I totally get the sentiment, but the contact permission is just used for AccountManager API. The application doesn't steal any contact information. If you think we are doing anything fishy, then you can also check the source code of the application which is available under public domain. It would be very kind of you to revise your rating

Asking for contact permission when not needed. You can just store the API key in a config file or locale storage. I don't think I will give access to all my contact for a damn API Key.

I totally agree with your point, but I just wanted to learn AccountManager API while making this application, so eventually I had to use contacts permission. Apart from that, the application never misuses your contacts in any way. You can also verify that as the entire code is completely open sourced.
