This app's performance has changed since 2014. It frequently stops working and freezes. I just downgraded it to a 3 from a 5. Not sure what's changed in 3 years. I still like it alot compared to other audio book apps and would like to see it fixed.

I used it on my Android phone and was happy for many years. After the last update thete is no option to download only over wi fi and the download does not really work at all. Looks like it downloads the story but it is only live stream. Once you download a story, if you cut the data and the wi fi the app will not play the story already ( supposed) downloaded. It requires internet to work so I don't understand why I have the option to download the story!? Before I could download under wi fi and listen.

At the end of every chapter at twice the volume of the narrative the most annoying voice u can think of shouts "this is a libravox recording all libravox recordings are in the public domain" it's so annoying I ended up paying for audible

Download by default This application by default downloads the whole book when you start to listen it, even if it is was 10 seconds of the first chapter. How can you do that without a single warning?! All my month data allowance was wasted for you. Thank you!!

Great idea. Fair execution. Concept and implementation give it an extra star. It's the equivalent of going to a comedy club on open mic night. Good for casual user.

Kinda o.k. Worked much better on my iPhone. Doesn't resume book where I left off (Huawei p8 lite)

Reading Helps me understand the importance of the story and visualize it more
The best science fiction experience If you think science fiction novels are good you'd better check out sci-fi short stories. With less predictable plots and zanier premises, they will rock you! Tons of odd stuff on here too, the "surprise me" feature really lives up to its name. From antiquity to recently declassified, it's sure to keep you guessing.
Works okay... This app is really good, with lots of wonderful stories. But the narrator's speaking is not that good. I understand that being a recording, but if only we could choose the narrator speaking in each story. Also, it sometimes force closes in my Samsung Galaxy Pocket. And, I really hope that it could run in background, because it does not in my phone. Please fix this as soon as possible so that I may recommend this to everyone and rate 5 stars.
Samsung galaxy s 3 Issues now fixed and back to being a wonderful app again love it thank you and keep up the good work! highly recommended! Prev post- I want to give this five stars as have the full version on my ipod touch love it used it every day so was excited to get it on my Sam .gs3 but it doesn't work every time you go to play a book it just stops working! Never managed to play anything! Please get this working for us as it's usually great and I miss it! Will change score once fixed!
Love it - just need a bookmark One of my apps I use the most! I fall asleep to it almost every night. I like the accents, Andy Minter being one of my favorites. If ONLY there was a book mark it would be perfect. I used to have an I pod touch and I could choose how long before it auto turned off. Now it's in specific increments. Not that it's a big deal but I'm wondering why that happened. Just PLEASE make a bookmark!
Library needs update... Library filters and connection to LibriVox content is Audiobooks' best feature but there many more titles available on the LibriVox website. However the web site's search engine is not as easy to use as the Audiobooks filters. What I'd like to see is Audiobooks' library become a real time filter and search engine for the LibriVox website catalog to include all the latest titles available. BTW I use Audiobooks to download LibriVox files and use Mort Player.
Decent, but has one major issue Great narration, high audio clarity, wonderful storytelling, HUGE library, and easy to use! Problem is, I've listened to 3 books now in full and ALL OF THEM cut out the end of chapters, aka without fail I never hear the end of any chapters. Including timeless novels like Huckleberry Fin.. So, if they can fix this it will deserve 5 stars, easy.
Love it It is the best app ever it is really low in mb aswell and has brilliant stories. I can never fall asleep because i get worried and think about bad things but these help me fall asleep. 100% 5 !Stars from me i love the layout and the accents and i dont need a bookmark because i always finish a book in one. I am not sure if the add more books but if not that is my only wish
Selection and rhythm Although I love reading and thoroughly enjoy quite a few of the titles available, the app doesn't include the authors I would prefer to read even though they are bestsellers. I also take issue with the complete lack of rhythm most of the narrators have when they record and I find that a lot of them have extremely irritating voices. How people can listen to these things and fall asleep to them is truly beyond my comprehension.
Really great app! This app is fantastic for listening to some old, classic books and not having to read them yourself! Nice with headphones in as does not disturb others. Clear sound too. Screen goes off while listening to reserve battery. I stronly recommend Treasure Island for males and The Secret Garden for girls. There are so many books to chose from. The people reading keep u interested.I've yet to uninstall which isn't like me-I'm uninstall happy normally! Just a great app. If u want audio books-install this!
Doesnt play Motorola xprt I downloaded thinking this app was gonna be it and boy was I disappointed. The book selection is great, but none of the books i wanted played... it crashed every time I tried playing something. -still in search of some audio books :(-
Free audio books, I can deal with bad readers This is a great audio book app. The books are free and there is a ton of classical books and older literature which are the only books worth listening to, in my opinion. The readers on some of the books are not great, but they are recording these books for free as volunteers. I am listening to The Life of Cicero by Anthony Trollope and I enjoy having an English reader for this one. Great app!
A wonderful collection of audio nooks, well read. The app really needs a control panel, or something to allow a user to control his library, etc. For instance , there appears to be no way to remove books once you are finished with them. better op
Great app The only thing I take issue with is that it has multiple narrators for the same book. That's annoying because you get used to the readers style and verbalization of each character and then there is a new reader for the next chapter. It would be more enjoyable if there was only one reader per book! Other than that, very simple to use. Love the book marking. When I close the app, it will restart just where I left off!
Horrible Biggest waste of time ever. Great book selection but hard to get them to play then skips half the chapter or skips several chapters. Doesn t save your place upon exiting...etc. complete failure. Uninstall

What's New
A complete overhaul of Audiobooks. Including a massively improved UI as well as much better compatibility with newer versions of Android. Additionally I've been able to add several thousand new free audiobooks to the catalog bumping the total up to a whopping 9,095. Enjoy!
