App is very nicely done. Now updated to include commentary from classic theologians as well as the songs for kids. This is a great resource for family devotions and teaching my kids theology! Thanks.
An essential tool for today's Christian, a life preserver in a post-modern sea.
I wish I could see both adult and children's answers at the same time. So far every time I've opened the app, I have to scroll through all the questions to get to the current question, and often I have to go back to settings to reset to show children's answers. I liked the functionality of the other new city app better. This one is prettier but that doesn't count for much when it's more trouble to use.
The children's mode is not correct. Q#9 states "know and trust" but in the actual catechism it is only "know". The Bible also is different than the old app which you could pick esv or niv. My kids already memorized a lot to switch versions. The Bible for Q#9 also states it is Deuteronomy 6:13-14 but actually only has one verse. The app looks very nice but it is not as accurate or functional. We are going to keep using the old ampers one.
This is such a beautiful app and new catechism. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the settings say all scripture quotations are taken from the ESV, but in the app all are actually quoted from NIV. I would love for both major translations to be available for use with the catechism.
Somewhat disappointing. Why on earth would Crossway use the NIV translation instead of their own ESV? I liked the ampers app better.
