The presentation is clean and the manga is easy to read. Loads fairly quickly. That's pretty much the good parts. Now the selection isnt great; it's very limited. There is a reoccurring bug where is loads pages out of order. It usually is fixed by exiting the chapter and reloading it. Those are minor grips I can deal with but I have had the app for about 2 months and as far as I can tell no new content has been added. And if there was there is no way to tell unless you have those manga saved. It's suppose to be updated weekly but that remains to be seen.
Just got a new phone and didn't re-install this app till just resently. Did you guys get rid of some manga? I was reading one a while back and can't find it now. Rosario and a vampire. Also I remember there being more free stuff than there is now.
So this is a serious question is this managed anymore? I noticed almost all the series don't load properly or the ones that did are done with little to no new ones. But what bugs me the most is having a series start somewhere in the middle than stop updating it.
Being a long-time user of Crunchyroll for anime, I thought the manga app would be a great addition. Sadly, not every anime I watch is on the app. Kinda makes sense when you think about just how large the selection of anime is. That's one gripe down, but there's another. I never get a notification of a new chapter to the two manga I'm reading. I have notifications turned on both in the app and in my phone's settings. I really wish this would be fixed. I forgot to mention this problem has persisted for months, years probably. Although there's a lack of selection, I'd take it over the annoying as hell pop ups and ads on some manga sites any day.
This app is awesome for manga reading, but it is also marred by minimal patching and updates. Bugs persist in such odd ways. Some chapters are not loading, and many manga have pages that fail to "turn" properly; often having pages being replaced with earlier pages or out of sequence organization. The selection is "slowly" expanded upon, but overall is a nice bonus for Crunchyroll members. Worth a look, but can benefit from updates and bug fixes.
When the app works, it's great. However, there is an incredibly annoying issue (which only occurs on the app, not the website): pages in various manga (every one I've read) will randomly be replaced with an earlier page... Especially infuriating when it happens during an important plot development. Please fix!! Also had issues with the app randomly logging me out and giving the "data error" message. Will update rating when the problems are fixed. Like I said, it's great when it works!
Bug fixes and stability improvements.
