About this app

The SFMOMA Audio app offers beautifully produced stories featuring personalities not often heard in museums. Dancers, musicians, poets, and TV personalities join artists and curators in giving a series of unique takes on the art and exhibitions in our galleries. Download the app today to see (and hear) art in a whole new way.

The SFMOMA Audio app is generously supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and powered by Cuseum.

The search function is worthless. Even when standing in front of a display, you can't find it in the app. The map is as basic a paper map. It adds nothing. The art goggles family game is a disaster. The voice is annoying and it does not actually tell you anything about the art. My kids (age 9 and 11) were put off from the start and only listened to three sections because I insisted on the hopes they would get better.

Works decently on a samsung s9. Audio gets stuck sometimes and I have to start again. The app gets lost on resume, which is quite frustrating. Considering it's the only audio guide in the museum, they should invest more in this app.

This app has such poor usability that trying to use it in the museum makes you look more at your phone instead of the art works. I used the 'old' iPod audio tours last year and it was the best experience I ever had. I don't get why you would replace something that good with something this poor.
