Won't register Does not work through either registration process. Looks like they're neglecting android just like they did their network. "The rg6 is more than fine, not spending money on that fancy fiber optic stuff"
Connections always weak My problem with this service is that optimum wifi connects even when the signal is too weak to use. I almost always have to turn wifi off and go back on cell data when optimum wifi is available.
GARBAGE-A JOKE we need optimum to wake up and get this working. Stop spending money on commercials and FIX this dam app. Will NOT allow you to sign in And when i sign in manually the signal is so poor it kills my browsing. Have to turn off wifi to get back online. Optimum should be ashamed, all the advertising is bullshiit. FIOS is the way to go!!!!
Why are we using optimum? How many reviews does it take for Optimum to recognize their app has a problem, and fix it? We are all customers and one of the reasons is the access to "hundreds of hot spots." Neglecting a strong customer base is never a good idea.
Love my Optimum WiFi I read all these old negative reviews that definitely don't hold true now. Hot spots are everywhere with a strong signal and I hardly ever have to worry about using my data plan. I even dropped my plan to the lowest possible and am saving a lot of money thanks to this not to mention WiFi phone calls sound amazing. This makes my crazy cable bill much more bearable. Thanks Optimum.
User Interface Confusing & Use "CableWifi" for best results Despite all the negative reviews, I had been using this for years without issues. You run it once, and put your credentials in, and then it logs you in automatically from then on. The problem is the screen where you setup the app and enter your credentials is a little confusing. Don't choose the "I am at home...." option, and choose the other option and enter your Optimum ID and password. The reviews regarding signal strength and speed etc. It depends on where you are. Some hotspots are great, some aren't very good. I have noticed that choosing and "Optimum" SSID does tend to be problematic, slow, etc. But you might notice a "CableWifi" SSID (Often you see both), and that tends to work fine. I think Cablevision is in partnership with cablewifi, and probably starting to phase out their own gear and legacy service, to farm the whole thing out.
