Doon Senior Secondary Public School was established in 2003 in Kararwala village by Mr Gamdur Singh Dhillon, with the exemplary objective of ‘giving back to society’.
Mr Dhillon, who served the Punjab Forest Services for 30 years and retired as Divisional Forest Officer in 2014, had experienced the challenges of rural education and was always keen on establishing an educational institution in the area that would make quality education easily accessible for rural children. His vision was greatly supported by his wife Dr Charanjit Kaur Dhillon, the founder of the first play way school — Doon Playway in Bhatinda city, who always believed in the union of traditional Indian system of education and modern educational techniques.
Their dream of imparting quality education to rural children turned into reality with the establishment of school in Kararwala village, the ancestral village of Mr Dhillon. Ever since the school has been achieving significant milestones in quality education.
