Achikochi draws kigaku and feng shui direction lines over a map, centred on any point you choose.
Set your home, your office, or wherever you are standing as the centre, and the map shows the sectors radiating out from it. A compass in the corner tracks the bearing and the distance from that centre to wherever you have moved the map to, so you can check a destination before you set off.
SECTOR SYSTEMS
Four systems are included, and you can switch between them at any time:
- Feng Shui 45/45
- Kigaku 30/60
- Kigaku 12 Directions
- Feng Shui 24 Mountains
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Set any point on the map as your centre, and jump straight back to it
- Search by address or place name, with recent searches kept for next time
- Save up to eleven separate maps, each with its own centre and sector system, for home, work, a family house or a hotel you are travelling to
- Show your current location on the map
- Read the bearing and the distance from the centre, in kilometres or miles depending on your device's units
The direction lines are computed on the ellipsoid rather than on a flat map, so a line stays true over long distances instead of drifting the further out it goes.
MAGNETIC DECLINATION
True north and magnetic north are not the same direction, and the gap between them changes with where you are. Achikochi can correct for it.
Wherever you are in the world, the correction is worked out for you from the map's position, using the World Magnetic Model. You can type in your own figure to override it, or leave the correction switched off. West is positive and east is negative.
Every feature is free to use. The app is supported by advertising.
