About this app

Stereogram uses Google Cardboard to present vivid 3D images from history.

Powered by the NYPL Stereogranimator (http://stereo.nypl.org), Stereogram allows you to:

-Search over 40,000 historical stereographs by voice
-Browse popular images from Stereogranimator.
-Curate your own list of favorite stereographs.
-View 3D images of your own

Stereogram requires a special housing for your smartphone, made to the "Google Cardboard" spec: http://cardboard.google.com , such as the DODOcase.

Other 3D/VR viewers such as the Durovis Dive, etc may be supported.

The Nexus 5 is the ideal phone for this app, or any 1080p smartphone that is compatible with Google Cardboard. The experience with other handsets may vary.

If you got a chance to try this app, please leave a review with your thoughts!

It's really cool. The microphone access is for the voice-search interface. The only thing I don't like is that it currently cannot view standard, wide scanned images of stereographs that you've loaded on your phone itself. It currently seems to only work with a JPS file, or two seperate images for right and left. Maybe the developer could add support for wide, single-image jpeg files?

It finds stuff but doesn't advance to the next picture. Why not have a "next" button? Why insist on having the user say a number? Really irritating.

the stero images are too different to see the 3D for me. the bad point is that I can't configure it, whereas interface is well seen
