Lots of pop ups when each bird starts coming in, but they go away when you hit snooze or stop. I'm using this in addition to my regular alarm, this one first, then a harsh one to ensure I actually woke up. I really like the idea, but it needs to be tweaked a little more to resemble the built in clock app on most android phones.
This is absurd- there's a silent notification you have to press before the alarm will go off. I wish I had I known that before I used this to wake me up to get ready for my meeting today. Beautiful sounds and aesthetically pleasing app, but a functional alarm it is not.
Yeah agree it should turn on alarm if phone is on silent. I prefer to put phone on silent when sleeping but the sound had to be manually turned on when the alarm came on. Please do fix this as it will be so wonderful to wake up to nature after a restful sleep.
Amazing idea and beautifully executed, but it needs a few things to push it from "good" to "best alarm clock ever": 1) as others have pointed out, the birds don't sing in a chorus. Each songbird file plays individually. It's still pretty but it's not what it says on the tin. 2) PLEASE give an option to slowly fade in the alarm. As lovely as birdsong is, it's still scary as hell when it explodes into full volume on your nightstand. Otherwise wonderful visual design and very attractive interface.
Edited: went from 2 stars to three as "alarm preview" was added in an update. I originally thought this was a great app - beautifully designed, and the sample quality is excellent! I'd like to give it five stars, but there is one big issue I have with it: the deal breaker is that when the alarm goes off, it is silent until you tap the notification bar! The first alarm I set went off the same time as another alarm, so I thought that was the problem. Nope - second alarm went off while I was Google searching, and it was silent, too! I'm keeping the app for now, and am looking forward to bugfixes!🐦
Great idea, as many have said, and would benefit from some tweaks, as many have also said. I'd like a volume setting (which I think should bypass the phone's main volume setting, because an alarm is a special case), a volume ramp-up setting, and a setting for whether or not to play through the phone's speaker if buds or Wi-Fi are engaged. Or if phone is set to Silent. Still, good enough to be worth improving.
- Sample a chorus as you create it
- Alarm notifications sound for 5 minutes
- Fixed bug that was preventing some devices from editing alarms
